As it stands, there has been no talk of another offering in the Langdon series. But it should not be ruled out. Hollywood never kill their cash cows, and if there is potential money to be made they will certainly get round to making it at some point. Hanks had a lot of fun playing the intelligent Harvard University professor, and would most likely want to reprise his role if asked to do so. The thing that might put producers off is the fact that the two sequels to date did progressively worse than the original at the box office. The first picture directed by Ron Howard made $758.2 million worldwide, Angels & Demons brought in $485.9 million, while the latest offering only made $220 million. Perhaps the name of the first film helped draw in the massive crowds. Leonardo Da Vinci is one of the most famous artists of all time, and many people are familiar with his incredible paintings. Indeed, his name has been used to promote other things and is one of the reasons why so many people play Da Vinci Diamonds slot online. It features some of his best artwork, including the Mona Lisa. Brown’s book upon which the film is based was hugely popular as well, and it sold over 81 million copies worldwide. Brown’s Langdon series follows a different order to the film franchise, and there are still two other novels that haven’t been reimagined on the silver screen. These are The Lost Symbol, which was released in 2009, and Origin, which came out in October of 2017. There is great potential to make either of these books into a film, and recapture the sheer excitement of the first title. There was a seven-year gap between the release of Angels & Demons and Inferno, so it seems as though Colombia Pictures is in no hurry to churn each installment out.
