This actually reminds me to rewatch “Tenet,” I was originally very mixed on it back in the Summer of 2020. Tarantino had previously praised Nolan’s “Dunkirk” as his second-favourite film of the 2010s, admitting that it took him three viewings to realize it was a masterpiece. “It wasn’t until that third time where I was gauging it for [my best of the decade list], that I could finally see past the spectacle into the people, into the people of the story. I could finally see the forest for the trees,” he explained. “It’s a symphony, everything works,” Tarantino added, claiming it was also his favourite Nolan movie (“Batman Begins” is #2 and “The Prestige” #3). ”Dunkirk” also struck me as great movie on third viewing. The first two watches were hazier experiences, the multiple timelines consistently clashing onto each other — but Tarantino is right, once you get the gist of it, it’s an absolutely exhilarating experience and you notice how much of a magic trick it truly is. Perhaps one day we’ll get a complete Best of The Decade list from Tarantino? He clearly has one since he’s already mentioned “Dunkirk,” “The Social Network,” and “Unstoppable” are part of his top 10 — he never revealed what the other seven titles were. Contribute Hire me
