Now, much like every movie year, there is news that Le Clint, as they call him, is already set to direct a new film that could potentially be released early next year He is set to direct and star in this new film, titled Cry Macho, for Warner Bros. This would be his 37th film as a director. At 90 years of age, the man is a beast. We’ve also learned today that the filming of “Cry Macho” started on November 5th, with a post-production date set for December 16th. That’s right, the new Eastwood will only shoot for 5 weeks. That’s it, that’s all. And knowing how quickly the editing process usually is for his films, “Cry Macho” could very well be completed and in the can for release before the year is done. It would technically be able to qualify for next April’s Oscars if it’s released before the end of February. N. Richard Nash, who wrote the novel “Cry Macho”, penned the script along with Nick Schenk. Eastwood will also star in the film as a “onetime rodeo legend and now washed-up horse breeder. who, in 1978, takes a job from an ex-boss to bring the man’s young son home and away from his alcoholic mom. Crossing rural Mexico on their back way to Texas, the unlikely pair face an unexpectedly challenging journey, during which the world-weary horseman may find his own sense of redemption through teaching the boy what it means to be a man.” Last year’s “Richard Jewell” may not have lit up the box-office, but it proved to be a formidable statement from Eastwood. He’s built up a considerable fanbase for his twilight-phase movies over these last few years. His name is now synonymous and represents many values within this base, which includes plenty of conservatives, they will go see whatever movie he directs or stars in just purely based on his beliefs (“Gran Torino,” The 15:17 to Paris,” American Sniper,” “Sully”).
